Assiut University Organizes a Workshop on Sustainability and Social Responsibility in Cooperation with Technip Energies
Under the auspices of Professor El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, the Center for Sustainable Development at the University organized a workshop entitled "Sustainability and Social Responsibility in the Framework of Integration with Basic and Engineering Fields", in cooperation with the international company Technip Energies, under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Adawi, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and in coordination with Dr. Saleh Ismail, Director of the Center for Sustainable Development, and Mr. Mahmoud Al-Aidrousi, Director of the Sustainability Department at Technip Energies, and with the participation of several Vice-Deans, Faculty Members, Staff, Researchers, and Students from the University's various faculties.
Professor El-Menshawy stressed that Assiut University is keen to consolidate the concepts of sustainability within its various sectors, as one of the main axes to achieve comprehensive development, pointing to the university's interest in building effective partnerships with specialized international institutions to benefit from advanced expertise, support innovation, and qualify cadres capable of facing future challenges in the engineering, technological and environmental fields.
Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Adawi stressed the university's keenness to enhance cooperation with institutions and specialized authorities, to support the university's role in serving the community, contribute to the exchange of experiences and knowledge, and develop the skills of students, researchers and workers, in line with the requirements of the labor market and modern transformations in various fields.
The Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development pointed out the importance of the workshop in spreading the concepts of sustainability and social responsibility, and enhancing awareness of the importance of environmental protection and the applications of the circular economy, in line with the directions of the Egyptian state to achieve sustainable development goals, appreciating the efforts of Technip Energies International Company in supporting the spread of the culture of sustainability and enhancing the strategic understanding of its concepts.
For his part, Dr. Saleh Ismail, Director of the Center for Sustainable Development, explained that the workshop aims to enhance the integration between the academic aspect and industrial applications, and reduce the gap between theoretical study and the needs of the labor market, by
identifying the latest practices in engineering and technological fields, in a way that contributes to qualifying students and researchers and providing them with the necessary skills.
Mr. Mahmoud Al-Aidrousi, Director of the Sustainability Department at Technip Energies, explained that the workshop included a number of specialized lectures presented by a group of the company's engineers, which addressed various topics in the fields of engineering, sustainability and industrial applications.
The activities of the workshop included a lecture entitled "Paint in the Protection of Mechanical Equipment and Metal Structures from Corrosion. Available Opportunities and Labor Market Requirements", presented by Eng. Emad Adel and Mohamed Owais, in addition to a lecture entitled "Fundamentals of Engineering Operations" presented by Eng. Abdel Fattah Nader, and a lecture entitled "Civil Works and Planning" presented by Eng. Omar Hamed, and the activities concluded with a lecture entitled "Environmental Protection and Circular Economy" presented by Eng. Mohamed Al-Rouby
