Under the auspices of Professor El-Menshawy: Assiut University commemorates the thirteenth anniversary of the June 30 Revolution with a grand celebration in the presence of the Governor of Assiut and the executive, military, and religious leaders
Assiut University, under the patronage of Professor El-Menshawy, President of the University, organized today, Tuesday, July 14, a major celebration to commemorate the thirteenth anniversary of the glorious June 30 Revolution, in the presence of Major General Mohamed Alwan, Governor of Assiut, and Major General Staff Dr. Ibrahim Othman Moussa Hilal, strategist and former Deputy Secretary General of the National Defense Council, in addition to a group of executive, military, religious, and academic leaders, as well as Islamic and Christian clerics.
The celebration comes within the framework of the university's keenness to revive national events, consolidate national awareness among its students, promote the values of belonging and citizenship, and highlight the lessons learned from the June 30 Revolution and its role in protecting the Egyptian state and embarking on a new phase of construction and development.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Gamal Badr, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Mohamed Adawi,
Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Madiha Darwish, General Supervisor of Student Activities, Mr. Shawkat Saber, Secretary General of the University, Advisors to the President of the University, Deans and Vice Deans of Faculties, Faculty Members and their Assistants, University Students, as well as Student Welfare Officers and the "Students for Egypt" family. He presented the activities of the celebration were Mr. Mohamed Jumaa, Director of the Arts Department at the General Directorate of Student Welfare.
The celebration witnessed a lecture entitled "The June 30 Revolution... The Will of the People and the Process of Building the Egyptian State", delivered by Major General Staff Dr. Ibrahim Othman Moussa Hilal, strategist and former Deputy Secretary General of the National Defense Council, during which he discussed the historical and national dimensions of the revolution, and its importance in protecting the Egyptian state and consolidating the process of construction and development.
At the end of the lecture, Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy presented the university's shield to Major General Dr. Ibrahim Othman Moussa Hilal, in appreciation of his rich participation, valuable lecture, and contributions to spreading strategic thought and enhancing national awareness.
The celebration activities also included the screening of a documentary film entitled "Assiut University... A Journey of Achievement in the Light of the New Republic", which reviewed the most prominent achievements and developments of the university in various academic, research, medical, and service sectors, within the framework of supporting the state's vision to build the new republic.
Professor El-Menshawy stressed that the June 30 Revolution represents a national milestone that embodied the will of the Egyptian people to protect the state and preserve its national identity, and paved the way for the launch of a new phase of construction and development, and the consolidation of state institutions and human development. He added that Egypt's security, stability, and continued implementation of national projects, despite regional and international challenges, reflect the success of the vision of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, in leading the march of the new republic towards a more advanced and prosperous future. Expressing his appreciation to the Egyptian Armed Forces and the policemen for their sacrifices for the security and stability of the country, and to the righteous martyrs of Egypt.
The President of the University explained that Assiut University believes that its mission is not limited to education and scientific research, but extends to building human beings, consolidating national awareness and the values of belonging and citizenship, stressing that the university will continue to support the state's directions and achieve the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030 through excellence in education, scientific research, innovation, and community service.
During his lecture, Major General Staff Dr. Ibrahim Othman Moussa Hilal addressed the historical and national dimensions of the June 30 Revolution, stressing that it constituted a turning point in modern Egyptian history, after what the country witnessed after the January 2011 revolution, pointing out that the alignment of the armed forces with the will of the people contributed to maintaining the cohesion of the state, preserving its institutions, and preventing the country from sliding into chaos, paving the way for a new phase of stability and development.
He pointed out that the study of the June 30 Revolution is of particular importance to university students, as it is a model for understanding the relationship between the state and society, crisis management, the concepts of national security, and the role of state institutions in protecting the country.
He also reviewed the basic characteristics of revolutions throughout Egyptian history, leading up to the June 30 Revolution, which he stressed came in response to a popular will to preserve the national state and restore its course.
He touched on the development of the generations of wars, explaining their transition from traditional military confrontations to wars that rely on modern technology and artificial intelligence, and influencing awareness, media and information, stressing that community awareness, national belonging, and enhancing cybersecurity are key pillars to maintain Egyptian national security.
Major General Staff Dr. Ibrahim Othman Moussa Hilal stressed that the media has become one of the main tools in the wars of awareness, which imposes the need to enhance national awareness, consolidate the culture of verifying information and relying on official and reliable sources in the face of rumors. He also reviewed the most prominent achievements achieved after the June 30 Revolution, foremost of which are the implementation of major national projects, infrastructure development, enhancing national security, and upgrading various sectors of the state, in order to support the comprehensive development process.
He concluded his lecture by reviewing the most prominent lessons learned from the June 30 Revolution, stressing that the strength of the state stems from the cohesion of its people and the unity of its ranks, while rumors are one of the most dangerous tools to target countries and their institutions, which requires preserving state institutions, enhancing the integration of the elements of comprehensive power, investing in human development, proper planning for the future, raising digital awareness among the youth, and consolidating the culture of critical thinking to confront information wars and maintain national security.
The celebration included a bouquet of national songs presented by the Assiut University team for music and choir, led by Maestro Nasr El-Din Sayed, under the supervision of Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the General Administration of Student Welfare, Mr. Mohamed Gomaa, Director of the Arts Department, and Ms. Rasha Galal, Head of the Department of Performing and Musical Arts at the General Administration of Student Welfare, and the activities concluded with the playing of the national anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
