Assiut University Participates in the Launch of the Leadership Academy Initiative for Assiut Youth "Egypt Vision 2030" with a Scientific Session on Political Awareness and Governance
Under the patronage of Professor El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, the university participated in the activities of the inauguration of the Assiut Youth Leadership Academy initiative "Egypt Vision 2030", organized by the Youth Leadership Club in Assiut, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Directorate of Youth and Sports in Assiut (Civic Education Department), and Assiut International Technological University, under the auspices of Mr. Nabil Gohar, Minister of Youth and Sports, Major General Dr. Mohamed Alwan, Governor of Assiut, and under the supervision of Mr. Ahmed Al-Suwaifi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Assiut.
The activities witnessed the organization of a scientific session in which Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Adawi, Vice President of Assiut University for Community Service and Environmental Development, lectured, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Saad Ali, Dean of the Egyptian-German College of Technology, Dr. Ali Mohamed Stadt, Vice Dean of Youth at the Directorate of Youth and Sports in Assiut, and Dr. Doaa Salah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Youth Leaders
Club in Assiut, along with some faculty members and their assistants, members of the Youth Leaders Club, and a crowd of university students.
Professor El-Menshawy stressed that Assiut University's participation in this initiative comes within the framework of its national role in preparing and rehabilitating young people, and enhancing their awareness and scientific and intellectual abilities, to enable them to contribute effectively to achieving the goals of sustainable development and Egypt's Vision 2030, pointing out that the university is keen to support initiatives that contribute to building conscious youth leaders capable of facing the challenges of the future.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Adawi explained that the university continues to fulfill its mission in supporting the state's efforts to empower youth by strengthening partnerships with various institutions, organizing events that contribute to the development of political and societal awareness, and consolidating a culture of positive participation and good governance.
During the scientific session, the Vice President of the University addressed several topics, including the concept of political culture, the importance of community and political participation, citizenship, elections, and the role of youth in public life, in addition to introducing political systems and mechanisms for public policy-making, development policies in Egypt, the importance of governance, transparency, accountability and the rule of law, and the role of these principles in supporting sustainable development efforts, combating corruption, and building strong institutions.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Saad Ali stressed that the college's participation in the initiative reflects its keenness to contribute to the preparation of youth leaders who possess the necessary knowledge and skills to participate in building society, pointing out that such initiatives represent an important platform for dialogue with young people, and to develop their abilities to think, create, and participate effectively in achieving the goals of sustainable development and Egypt's Vision 2030.
