This achievement reflects the journal's academic standing and the high quality of its scientific publishing in the field of educational sciences.

Dr. Abdel-Mawla explained that the journal achieved an Arab impact factor of 2.9722, securing the fourth position among 1,303 journals across the Arab world that met Arcif’s classification and accreditation standards. It also ranked third in the Arab world within the educational sciences specialization, according to the 2026 Arcif report.

He added that the journal was placed in the Q1 category—the highest-ranking tier in educational sciences—out of 151 scientific journals that met the classification and accreditation criteria for this field, noting that the average Arcif impact factor for educational sciences was 0.803.

Dr. Abdel-Mawla emphasized that the Faculty of Education Journal’s advanced ranking reflects the continuous development the university is witnessing across various areas of academic activity and underscores its growing presence in the Arab scientific landscape. Dr. Gamal Badr, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, explained that the inclusion of the *Journal of the Faculty of Education* in the Q1 category and its advancement in the "Arcif" ranking is the fruit of a commitment to scientific standards and criteria regarding publication and peer review. He noted that this achievement reflects the high caliber of research featured in the journal and emphasized the importance of continuing to develop the university’s scientific journals and supporting their editorial boards to enhance research quality and increase citation rates.

For his part, Dr. Hassan Huwayyil, Dean of the Faculty of Education, affirmed that the journal’s achievement of this advanced ranking reflects the sustained efforts of the editorial board, researchers, and reviewers to elevate the quality of published research and uphold scientific and academic standards. These efforts contribute to enhancing the quality of research content and boosting citation rates for published studies.

"Arcif" is a specialized Arab index that measures and analyzes citations and impact factors for Arab scientific journals; its evaluations and rankings are based on a set of scientific and academic criteria designed to assess the quality of journals and their research outputs.

Using a Writing Circle Strategy-Based Program to Develop English Majors’ Creative Writing Skills

Research Abstract

This study aimed to improve the creative writing skills of English language student teachers in the Faculty of Education at Assiut University through a program grounded in the writing circle strategy. A quasi-pre post experimental design was used, involving a single group of thirty 4th-year students. To assess their creative writing skills— specifically in fluency, originality, elaboration, and flexibility—a creative writing test and scoring rubric were developed and administered. The findings showed a statistically significant improvement at the 0.01 level in the students’ post-test scores compared to their pre-test scores in creative writing skills, demonstrating the program’s effectiveness. The study also discusses the implications of the results and offers recommendations for future research and practice.

Key words: Writing circles, Creative writing skills, English Language student teachers .

Effects of Game-Based Brain Training on Alertness, Vigilance, and Executive Control in Students with Hearing Loss: A Randomized Controlled Psycho-Physiological Study

Research Abstract

Abstract:

objectives: To improve the attention components: Alertness, Vigilance, and Executive control in students with hearing loss using a game-based brain training program. In additions, to determine the brain regions activation during performing attention tasks after the training program.

Participants: 22 male students with hearing loss (40-70 db) aged between (14-18 years; m=16.8, SD=1.1) agreed to participate in the psychological study. Only 5 students agreed to perform the Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) study.

Measurements: Attention Network Test (ANT): a computerized test for measuring attention Components: Alertness, Vigilance, and Executive control. A computerized brain training game (Brain Challenge): includes: logic, math memory, visual and focus sub-tasks. Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI): to determine the activation of brain regions during performing attention test before and after training.

Results: There is a statistically significant difference in alertness, vigilance and executive control between pre and posttest on ANT for posttest (p=0.005). Brain regions related to alert, vigilance and executive control were more active during posttest rather than pretest. Brain regions (i.e.: superior temporal sulcus (STS) inferior frontal gyrus, premotor cortex, and inferior parietal lobule) activated more obviously on ANT posttest compared to pretest.

Conclusion: The more engagement on tasks depending on brain training, the better performance on cognitive aspects. The brain regions that are included on training tasks would be activated during performing the developed cognitive aspects.

Key words: Brain training, Alertness, vigilance, Executive control, Attention Network Test, Hearing loss.
